YoungGirl asked: I have two loans- 441,000.00 and 77,000.00. House is only worth about 520,000.00. I need to get out of it asap. Can I offer the lender of the second mortgage some money to get out of it before I do a short sale on the first? I was thinking about $1000 to $5000. Thanks! I need all the answers I can get.
I owe 520k, it may only sell for that amount if I’m lucky, definitely not more. Can I please have people with experience in this answer the question. I’ve read that in some short sales, the second mortgagee gets zero.

Ashley B asked: I want to refinance my current auto loan, and i don’t know alot about refinancing because i never did it before. First, how many payments do i have to make on time before i can check with different companies about refinancing? Some people have told me you can refinance after 6 months of on time payments. Second, how much will my payments or interest rate drop from my current rates? Third where is the company/bank to go for refinancing?

Carins U asked: I have significant mortgage interest paid in 2006 on my home and all of my income was subcontractor (1099) income.
In 2005, my tax preparer told me I couldn’t deduct the mortgage interest on 1099 income but now several people have told me that I can.
Which is it? Can I deduct the mortgage interest against my sub contractor income?
Thanks!
Jack

Xiaobei asked: Hello all,
i ‘d like to know how to best use mortgage refinance, and usually for what reasons people refinance. Also does refinance ultimately cost more? I don’t need to lower my monthly payment, so I don’t have any clear purpose in mind. It is just that I have heard a lot of different views on refinance. I hope to get some insights and analysis from you out there. Thank you.
