stephg asked: A person made an investment in a property, but the check was not sent to the individual, but it was used as a down payment. The individual that made the investment wants their funds back before the property is renovated. The funds have been sent to the contractor for renovation. How difficult is it for an individual to put a lien on a property they have invested in? And, what exactly does that lien mean as far as renovations and selling of the property are concerned? What are the the statutes of limitations in NYS?

Pea asked: I have heard of compound miter saws, chop saws, table saws, etc. We have finish work to do from the walls out in basement, attic, garage and room over garage, and repair and renovation in the rest of the house. What shall we purchase rather than rent by the day or week?

justme asked: We have a tiny bathroom that 5 people will be sharing (2 adults and 3 children). We will be doing some renovation to make it more space efficient. I thought that it would give the bathroom a little more room if the door opened outward into the hall and against the wall. I started thinking that none of the bathrooms I have owned had door that opened outward. Does this make sense or is my logic flawed?
Thanks for the pocket door suggestion but there is no room for one.

gtmds asked: I live in Florida-US and am updating the old roof of my home with a completely new one before the next hurricane season. I assume that this won’t be a tax deductible expense if I pay for it directly, but would I be able to deduct interests of a home equity loan used towards this renovation?
